Shah targets Sonia over AgustaWestland

New Delhi, April 29 : The BJP and therefore the Congress on Fri once more indulged in political recriminations on the AgustaWestland VVIP chopper deal each in parliament and outdoors, with BJP chief Amit Shah targets Sonia over AgustaWestland president of Congress.

BJP leader Subramanian Swamy submitted a breach of privilege notice within the higher house against Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad for “lying” that the then Congress-led government had blacklisted chopper maker AgustaWestland and its Italian parent company Finmeccanica.


Swamy explained during a tweet that the breach of privilege notice below Rule 187 was against Azad “for willfully telling a lie to RS (Rajya Sabha) on AW (AgustaWestland) blacklisting”.


Swamy added before getting into parliament that Azad “lied” concerning the blacklisting.


The Congress too gave a breach of privilege notice against Defence Minister Manohar parrikar and his ministry.


Congress members Husain Dalwai and Shantaram Naik, citing rules and procedure, explained that once parliament is in session a very important statement on a difficulty should be created within the 2 homes of parliament and not outside.


The defence ministry on Thursday issued a clarification on the difficulty through the Press Information Bureau.
